Local, State, and National Birding Organizations

The Buchanan County Bird Club shares members and activities with RCBC as does the Bristol Bird Club.  Check these sites for information about activities they might have planned.  Both clubs welcome participation from non-members.

The Virginia Society of Ornithology is the official birding organization for the state of Virginia while the Tennessee Ornithological Society is the organization for Tennessee.  These sites are excellent resources for activities and information for the respective states.

The National Audubon Society and The American Birding Association have lots of information about birding.

The American Bird Conservancy is very active in preserving habitat and working to protect threatened and endangered species.

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is "... a nonprofit membership institution whose mission is to interpret and conserve the earth's biological diversity through research, education, and citizen science focused on birds."  There are a number of projects that involve "citizen science" in which you can participate.
